Hello wonderful kids,
I get asked a lot to explain what Jool is and what we are trying to teach our students. There is a very famous poem that helps to explain it. I edited it to be a bit shorter:
O Me! O Life!
BY WALT WHITMAN
"...The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life?
Answer.
That you are here—that life exists and identity,
That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse."
Poetry is difficult, but beautiful, so I'll summarise the idea that strikes me and what Jool is trying to do.
Why are you wonderful kid on this Earth? It IS to learn what books tell you and to gain knowledge that's already been written, but, I think YOUR BIGGEST job is to 'contribute a verse'. That means to give YOUR idea to the world.
That's what Jool is. A place to listen to your ideas and help you to learn how to tell the WORLD.
So, be bold. We teachers will listen to YOUR ideas because they will change the world and the future.
