English Literature is so important but...
How does Jool teach English Literature?
At Jool, English Literature is our most important class. Reading, composition, and in depth understanding of literature is vital for children.
Here's how we work out magic:
We read 1-2 books a month, 2-3 years ahead of school. Our classes are 1-to-1 or in very small groups and we're incredibly productive in every minute of every class. No more pauses waiting for everyone to get their books out of their bags.
We unlock the lessons in the books by making lessons creative and academic. Kids are kids, don't forget that. So, we aim to bring the lessons alive by making them creative and actually interesting. A bored literature student doesn't learn very much.
Our priority is understanding books deeply. Knowing what happens is important, but knowing the academic themes and deeper meaning is OUR aim.
Jool Case Study
High School Prep
One of our students is aiming to go an elite, private high school, so we designed a bespoke literature curriculum to make sure she pre-studies all of the books she'll tackle at the school.
Our private classes are incredibly flexible and it allows us to help students in a personalised way.

The Jool Reading List
We want all students and parents to succeed, so we put together a Jool reading list from grades 1-9 with the books we think every student MUST read and study. It's free and a game-changer. We want to help every student who meets Jool and this is a start!
Enjoy!
