After discussing in class about novels that have been adapted into movies, I came up with an idea.
Recently, I went to a stage production of the movie ‘Spirited Away’ and it was amazing to see how beautifully the fantastical film translated to the stage. We often talk about which novels work well as movies, but not much about movies that could work well as stage plays.
I would like to know which movie you think would work spectacularly on stage and why?
Great idea, Chloe! Plays are such wonderful ways to ACT out stories, and they allow for creativity in set design and costumes as well as acting. The book I have been reviewing for our JOOL BOOK CLUB is THE GRAVEYARD BOOK by Neil Gaiman. While they have been working on trying to make a movie out of this famous book, it hasn't materialized yet. I think I would LOVE to see an attempt at bringing this haunting story to life ON STAGE. It would take a lot of ingenuity with the SET and STAGE DESIGN - let alone the MONSTER DESIGN; but it would undoubtedly be a smash hit due to the incredibly thrilling nature of the story itself.
